Dearest DIVAS and the people who love us,

Welcome to 2020!

If you are reading this, I am happy that you are growing with us, supporting us, and encouraging us here at the Divinely Inspired Victoriously Aware, DIVA Foundation. You mean the world to us and all the ‘thank yous’ cannot express our gratitude.  You are appreciated.

In this new year, 2020, we plan to do more good in spreading love and using the arts to increase awareness in the fight against HIV/AIDS and other life-altering illnesses.

Last year, we did a number of GREAT things:

  1.  Divas went international establishing a Back to School outreach project in rural Jamaica, WI. providing book bags and school supplies to over 70 eager children.

  2.  I moderated a women of color rally in South Carolina with Sen. Kamala Harris and other women to encourage them to use the power of their vote to improve the quality of their lives

  3.  The 29th Annual DIVAS Simply Singing was another sold-out success live-streamed on KTLA’s digital platform to an engaged audience of over 150k viewers. We honoured songwriter and academy award nominee, Diane Warren with outstanding performances by Deborah Cox, Brandy and more. We raised over 150k with partial proceeds supporting Project Angel Food in their effort to feed more people battling life-threatening diseases in need of healthy food. Now, that’s something! And this year we will once again partner with them as we celebrate 30 years of DIVAS Simply Singing!

  4.  Also, believing in the power of the arts to change the world and recognizing Gun violence and gun culture as a life-threatening disease, we supported the film short ‘First Day Back’ which will screen in the Toronto Black Film Festival and the Pan African Film Festival in LA.

  5. The film also screened in the Teaneck Film Festival and shown to the Teaneck School District with outstanding student involvement.

Moving forward in 2020, we want to know your D.I.V.A. story of inspiration, encouragement and love. So, stay with us and redefine your D.I.V.A.

With love and appreciation,
